Back In Iraq Chapter 1

Kuwait
We are back in Kuwait, almost similar compared to what happened in 2003, Most of our forces were forced out of Baghdad once the Scorpion tanks and T-72s arrived. That was all the way back in 2021, it is 2025 now. The war in Iraq was thought to be a small and easy battle for the US, but it turned out to be one of the largest US military efforts ever, Our job is to get into Iraq and find out what is going on, and stop it to end these past twenty two years of war and casualties.
We arrived in Kuwait on March 14th everyone was very eager, troops and tanks were on the stand by at all times, every now and then we would see planes taking off heading across the border but never coming back, it made a sick feeling sit in my stomach. Living in Kuwait wasnt bad at all; I was in Kuwait for nearly three months, always curious when we would go into Iraq, no one was ever too happy.
Then on June 18th we were told to slowly cross the border for a night raid our goal was to penetrate Iraqs border and get in twenty to thirty miles within and get a hold on some land with assistance of MLRSs and armored troop movers. Everyone was shocked, most of the infantry division thought it would just be a stand off and they would be leaving but they were wrong, we were moving in.
As soon as we headed across the border there was mortar raining all over, we walked in a single line so it was harder for the mortar to hit us, every now and then I would feel pieces of shrapnel hit off my helmet, the general was constantly urging us on, Go you maggots! he yelled several troops were injured my shrapnel, it made me wonder, was I next? The emergency hum-vees immediately picked them up and were sent right back to Kuwait.
The night raid was stopped to a halt; we made it thirty miles within the Iraqi border. The goal wasnt to see what was causing the up rise of Iraq, now it was invading it, as we saw hundreds of tanks come over the hill at sunrise all we could say is oh no, We are invading Iraq again.
